0.11.3 — a mark that fades by itself

Text: Kolofon

The mark has been granted — it has to be shown somehow. The simplest answer is a dialog with a heading, a body and an OK button. The simplest and the worst, because it stops a person mid-sentence and demands an action for something they never asked for.

**Only the mark appears.** It springs up, grows, settles back to its own size and fades. One line beneath it — what for. No backdrop, no frame, no dismiss button, because there is nothing to dismiss: it goes on its own after two seconds.

**The animation starts only once the server has answered.** Never in advance, never at the moment of the click. Showing a reward before you know it was granted is a promise made on somebody else's behalf — and if the server refuses, the reader remembers a mark they will never find again.

**With reduced motion enabled, only the appearing and the fading remain.** No scaling. Someone who asked their system for less movement on screen has a reason we do not know and do not need to know.

This version counts nothing and stores nothing. Its entire substance is sixty lines of styles and one short component. Sometimes a release is only about how something looks for two seconds.
